August is the golden hour of summer—when the sun lingers a little longer, peaches weigh heavy on the branches, and fields of lavender wave gently in the breeze. Here in Montour Falls, the waterfalls cool the air while bees dance through wildflower patches, and the scent of stone fruit and herbs lingers like a promise.
At Montour Falls Tea Company, August’s La-Tea blends are inspired by orchard harvests, summer lullabies, and that magical moment when summer begins to slow and soften.

Tea History: Late Summer Rituals
In ancient China, August marked a time of balance—between the fiery energy of summer and the calm, cooling transition into fall. Teas harvested later in the season were often smoother, more floral, and less astringent—mirroring the mellow rhythm of late summer. Our August La-Teas follow that same philosophy: relaxing, fruit-forward, and gently grounding.
Finger Lakes Feature: The Peach Belt
While most people know the Finger Lakes for wine, it’s also home to incredible fruit orchards—especially peaches, which thrive in the microclimates created by the lakes. Many of our teas are inspired by these groves, where sunlight warms the soil and ripens the fruit to perfection.
You can taste that sunshine in every sip of Lavender Peach Matcha or Honeybush Peach Bliss.
Montour Falls in August

By August, the trails through the gorge are lined with goldenrod and Queen Anne’s lace. Shequaga Falls continues to cascade, whispering tales of Queen Catharine Montour, whose spirit is said to watch over the valley. Her strength, wisdom, and connection to the land are steeped into every blend we make.
If you listen closely beneath the roar of the falls, you might just hear the rustle of summer saying farewell.
